Running Bond Paver Pattern
Running bond offsets each course by half a unit, like brickwork. It is the fastest rectangular layout to install, forgiving on cuts, and it visually stretches a space along the direction of the courses — the default for walkways, patios and long terraces.

Design notes
Run the courses across a narrow space to widen it, or down the length of a path to draw the eye forward.
Laying and waste
Pattern choice changes labor and waste before it changes anything else. Straight rectangular fields run about 5% waste; diagonals, curves and borders push that to 10% or more. Confirm the unit's true (actual) dimensions rather than the nominal size when planning the layout.
