Permeable interlocking concrete pavement

A paver system with enlarged, stone-filled joints that lets stormwater infiltrate into an open-graded aggregate reservoir.

Often abbreviated PICP. The surface, joint stone, bedding, base and subbase all work as one hydraulic system, so substituting standard sand for joint stone destroys its function.
